Fail-safe method for eliminating animal odour

Eliminating animal odour is possible

Eliminating animal odour is possible

Whether you work in a zoo, vet clinic or pet resort, or simply have a few pet dogs or cats, the smell of animal odour can become quite overwhelming. Urine is the main culprit, thanks to its high concentration of uric acid.

Why is it so hard to remove the smell of animal urine?

When pets wee inside, their urine can quickly soak into carpet fibres, wooden floors, sub-floors and other types of porous flooring. Even outside, animal urine can penetrate into a range of surfaces including artificial grass and paving. This is because the uric acid crystals tend to bind tightly to whatever surface they come into contact with.

To make matters worse, if left untreated, this smell can invite other territorial animals (such as dogs or unneutered male cats) to compete for the territory and urinate in the same location.

Many people make the mistake of using household cleaning products such as bleach or vinegar or thinking they can simply hose off urine outside. But this won’t solve your smelly problem. To get rid of that ammonia stench, you need to neutralise the smell with an enzymatic cleaner, eliminating any animal odour.

What is an enzymatic odour eliminating product?

While traditional household cleaners can help with the 95%+ water content of urine, they have minimal effect on the smelly components of wee. This is a particular problem in the veterinary and animal care industry, or if you have multiple animals, as new urine appears multiple times a day.

An enzymatic odour eliminating product speeds up this biodegradation process in seconds, removing the uric acid and the associated smell. Safe4’s enzymatic formula eliminates the urine and uric acid crystals, effectively getting rid of the molecules that cause any offensive ammonia smell.

How do you use Safe4 Odour Killer?

All you need to do is spray in the direction of where the offensive odour is coming from. The recommended dilution for the concentrated product is 1-part Odour Killer to 50-parts tap water.

Once the Odour Killer has come into contact with the matter causing the smell, the enzymes and essential oils that make up the solution will come into contact with the matter, break down the molecules causing the smell, and eliminate them.

Because Safe4 Odour Killer is non-staining and non-corrosive, you can use it on a range of surfaces including all types of flooring, carpet, artificial grass and in your garden.

Is it safe for animals after the odour killer has been applied?

Like all Safe4 products, our Odour Killer product is completely non-toxic and a non-irritant. It doesn’t contain any Phenols, Aldehydes, or alcohol, and is completely biodegradable. This means that the product is completely safe for animals to walk on or lie down on surfaces after they have been treated with Safe4 Odour Killer.
