Gloucestershire Warned Over Deadly Canine Parvovirus
No Comments
A Jack Russell in Churchdown was treated last week after catching the contagious canine parvovirus. The dog did not survive the disease, which has common symptoms such as bloody diarrhoea, vomiting, abdominal pain and severe weight loss.
The disease spreads very easily and there’s always a risk of the virus being passed on through faeces in the footpath or the park.” Vaccinations against Canine parvovirus need to be topped up every three years.
To protect your dog from the virus, ensure you are cleaning with a disinfectant which is effective against canine parvovirus. Safe4 Disinfectant cleaner kills canine parvovirus at a dilution of 1:100 and contact time of 30 mins.
