6 reasons vet clinics are making the switch to Safe4 veterinary disinfectant

When you use a cleaning product every day, you want to make sure it does what it’s supposed to, and it doesn’t have any harmful effects.

While there are a number of disinfectants on the market to choose from, very few tick all of the boxes when it comes to being used in vet clinics.

One product that definitely ticks all of the boxes – and is more cost-effective than all others available – is Safe4 veterinary disinfectant. Here are 6 reasons why a growing number of vet clinics are making the switch to Safe4 veterinary disinfectant.

1. It doesn’t irritate your eyes and throat

The Safe4 team spend a lot of time at events and visiting vet clinics, animal shelters and boarding facilities across Australia. One key piece of feedback we get from vet clinics that use Safe4 veterinary disinfectant is that it doesn’t irritate their eyes or throat like many other products – so there’s no coughing, headaches, or asthma attacks triggered by our product. So, when we say our disinfectant is non-irritant, we mean it!

2. Safe4 is the most cost-effective

When you do a side-by-side comparison with other disinfectant products available for purchase in Australia, Safe4 is easily the most cost-effective disinfectant on the market that is designed to use in veterinary and animal care environments.

Here’s just one example of how you will save considerable money by choosing Safe4:

  • Safe4 dilution rate for Parvo Virus is 1:100 versus 1:125 for another well-known disinfectant
  • Safe4 25L @ $769.90 used at 1:100 will make 2,500 litres = $0.308 per litre diluted.
  • Other disinfectant 25L @ $1,960 used at 1:125 will make 3,125 litres = $0.627 per litre diluted.

While Safe4 may use 25% more concentrate compared to this well-known product, it still equates to approximately 51% less outlay.

That’s a saving of $0.319 (almost 32 cents) per litre, which adds up pretty quickly over time when you’re using it every day.

3. Safe4 doesn’t include any toxic chemicals

When you’re using a product around animals, it’s important that it is completely safe for staff to use as well as safe for the animals in their care. Safe4 disinfectant has been specifically formulated as a safe alternative to harsh and hazardous cleaning products, such as bleach, ammonia-based products and other householder cleaners.

With Safe4, it’s almost just as important as what’s not in our product as what is. Safe4 does NOT contain any harmful phenols, aldehydes, or alcohol. And when diluted, it has a neutral PH of approximately 7.

We often get asked for the exact formulation of Safe4. But like the Colonel’s secret herbs and spices, we can’t give you the recipe, however, you can read a full list of the active ingredients.

4. It doesn’t need to be rinsed off

There are a number of disinfectants currently being marketed to vet clinics that require you to rinse off the product after application. This means two things:

  • The disinfectant contains toxic ingredients that could be harmful to people and animals unless rinsed off
  • You are effectively washing money down the drain with the water and labour required to rinse off your disinfectant after application.

Safe4 veterinary disinfectant has a neutral pH of approximately 7.6 when diluted and does not require rinsing after application. This saves you valuable time and makes cleaning a much more streamlined process.

5. Safe4 has been independently tested to prove its effectiveness and safety in use around animals

Disinfectants that are specifically designed for the veterinary industry – such as Safe4 – need to pass additional testing and scrutiny before being approved for sale.

Safe4 has been approved by the Australian Pesticides and Veterinary Medicines Authority. This means our veterinary disinfectant has been assessed for its effectiveness against viruses and bacteria, the ingredient list, and safety data, and that it is safe for use in a vet clinic setting.

These stringent checks and balances, and subsequent approval for sale give vet clinics confidence that to our product does what it says it will do, and it isn’t harmful for both people and the animals that care for them.

6. It doesn’t have a chemical smell

One key piece of feedback that we have from our vet clinic clients is that Safe4 veterinary disinfectant doesn’t have that clinical, chemical smell that you get from many other disinfectants, particularly those based on bleach or ammonia.

Safe4 disinfectant is available in 3 different scents – apple, lavender, fresh mint – as well as an odourless option.
